Yam (Taro) Spring Rolls
A subtly sweet and earthy filling made from Yam stripes, mushrooms, fungus and vermicelli. It’s one of a kind in Singapore, outer layer is crispy and inside is sweet and Savory. This spring roll offers a masterful contrast in textures and a complex flavour profile that is both unique and deeply satisfying.
In summary, this Singaporean-style Yam Spring Roll is a textural masterpiece—crispy on the outside and wonderfully complex within. It’s a satisfying snack that provides valuable complex carbs and fiber, making it a more wholesome choice, albeit one best enjoyed as an occasional treat due to its fried nature.
Curry Rolls
A twist of classic Singaporean favourite Curry Puff. Fragrant and Savory filling, often featuring potatoes, and onions simmered in a rich, golden yellow curry powder wrapped it with our popiah skin. Fried to golden brown and creates a crispy texture. It’s warmly spiced, aromatic, and a beloved favourite for its robust flavour.
Turnip Rolls
A Savory and satisfying filling primarily made from shredded white jicama. It has a slightly sweet, peppery taste and a wonderfully soft yet crunchy texture, often combined with carrots, mushrooms, fungus and vermicelli.
This spring roll features a complex filling primarily composed of shredded white jicama (often referred to as “turnip” or “sengkuang” in Southeast Asian contexts), which provides the foundational flavour and texture. Turnip Spring Roll wins over foreigners and acts as a perfect introduction to the world of Savory pastries, offering a delicious experience that is both comfortingly familiar and excitingly new.

Laksa is a vibrant and flavorful dish that represents the rich cultural fusion of the Peranakan (Straits Chinese) community. Originating from the intermarriage between Chinese immigrants and the local Malay population in Southeast Asia, this unique cuisine is a blend of Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian influences. The term "laksa" itself is believed to have roots in the Sanskrit word "laksha," meaning "many," which aptly describes the multitude of ingredients and flavors that come together in this dish.
Laksa is particularly famous for its spicy, coconut-based broth, which is infused with a complex blend of herbs and spices such as lemongrass, galangal, and turmeric. The soup is typically served with rice noodles and garnished with ingredients like prawns, fish cakes, tofu puffs, and hard-boiled eggs, creating a hearty and satisfying meal.
In Singapore, Peranakan laksa has gained a cult following, with Katong Laksa being one of the most iconic versions of this dish. Katong Laksa features a thick, rich broth and is traditionally eaten with a spoon instead of chopsticks, as the noodles are cut into shorter lengths.
Ann Chin also offers Laksa Set during Festive Period. Per set will be $50.00 for 8-9 bowls.

Embrace the rich tapestry of Peranakan-Nyonya culture with our exquisitely designed Kueh Pie Tee sets, perfect for any occasion.
Kueh pie tee is a beloved Peranakan dish that is especially loved in the Malaysian states of Penang and Melaka, and the city-state of Singapore. All three areas are hubs of the Peranakan-Nyonya culture. Some people assert that pie tee is named after the word “patty” and could be the Peranakan equivalent of a British pastry. Others claim that kueh pie tee sprang up in Singapore during the Japanese Occupation.
Whatever the story may be, Singaporeans and Malaysians can collectively agree that kueh pie tee is a delicious dish that perfectly combines the crispy tart shell and the savoury goodness of the fillings.
The treat is formed of a thin, crispy pastry shell that is stuffed with a variety of vegetables and a mix of spices. It is also suitable for vegetarians. As it resembles an upside-down hat, kueh pie tee is known as "top hat" in Melaka. The pastry may appear slightly different depending on where you go. In Melaka, for instance, the edges fan outward (like a hat's brim), whilst the Singaporean version appears more like a delicate cup.

As you embark on a culinary adventure with us, learn about the rich history and flavours that lie behind our popiah masterpieces.
